BAFTA Rising Star Award
The nominations are in for BAFTA's Rising Star Award, to be presented at the BAFTAs on 13 February. There's some great contenders but also, I think, one strange nomination.

It's Tom Hardy I have the problem with. I ADORE Tom Hardy, he's one of the greatest actors we have and such a talent, but he's not a Rising Star. He's been in film since 2002 and has played some standout roles; Bronson, Handsome Bob in RocknRolla and the amazing lead in BBC2s Stuart: A Life Backwards. He's established...maybe I am being a bit harsh but Johnson and Arterton seem like fresh-faced little daisies compared to Tom Hardy.
My money's on Andrew Garfield though. The Social Network. Outstanding.
