The Toxic Avenger - remake news

My pal Lloyd Kaufman, President of Troma Entertainment, has confirmed that his 80s cult classic The Toxic Avenger is to be re-made.

For those of you not in the know, Toxie is about a nerd called Melvin who accidentally gets covered in toxic waste one day and he transforms into a creature of superhuman strength who sets out to protect his town - Tromaville - from 'punks' and generally nasty people.

I'm pretty thrilled - Troma are a true independent and deserve new audiences - this will hopefully bring Toxie back to the masses. Just make it good! Chatter surrounds a huge male Hollywood star and two Hollywood chicks - one who has just been a zombie and one who is supposedly re-kindling a relationship with an old flame - as possible leads.
